Vitamin is E ?
Studies are underway to determine whether vitamin E, through its ability to
limit production of free radicals.
What does Vitamin E do ?
In addition to its role in cell membrane repair, vitamin E helps maintain normal cardiovascular function, by protecting LDL cholesterol against oxidative damage, promoting normal blood clotting/platelet aggregation and normal blood pressure. Vitamin E also promotes normal wound healing. Vitamin E is used as an additive in foods with a high content of fat or oils, to prevent oxidation and rancidity.

Are there adverse effects from taking Vitamin E ? Vitamin E is generally well tolerated, but may rarely cause gastrointestinal disturbance or headaches.
Vitamin E has a low toxicity, and supplementation with vitamin E in clinical trials has an excellent safety record; a dose of 1000 IU/day is considered to be completely safe and without side effects.
Patients taking anticoagulants or with vitamin K deficiency may have increased risk of bleeding with high doses of vitamin E.
Vitamin E in supplements is usually sold as alpha-tocopheryl acetate, a form
that protects its ability to function as an antioxidant. The synthetic form is
labeled "D, L" while the natural form is labeled "D". The synthetic form is only
half as active as the natural form.
Bio-E-Vitamin is produced under Danish pharmaceutical control.
Each Pharma-Nord Bio-E-Vitamin capsule contains 350mg (equivalent
to 525 IU) of d-alpha-tocopherol, the most effective form of vitamin E utilized
by the human body. Pharma-Nord recommends1-2 capsules daily (525-1050 IU/day).
Levels of vitamin E are reduced by smoking, drinking alcohol, and
decline with age.
Diets containing a high proportion of fish oils or
polyunsaturated fatty acids may result in deficient vitamin E absorption
